Here we are! This is day one of our summer travels. We landed this afternoon in a campground just north of the Florida border off Route 95's Exit 1 in Georgia. Our motorhome seems loaded down with everything but the furniture from the house. But we are psyched. Tomorrow we'll be with the grandkids in Charleston, SC and on Sunday, we'll start heading west.

The whole reason for starting our trip in Charleston is pictured here. Jon and Kim's kids, our grandkids are Brock, age 14 and Callan who is 16. These are neat kids. Brock graduated from Junior High the day before this picture was taken. He is now a high schooler. Callan left for New York the day after this picture was taken and will be participating in a one month theater clinic at Julliard. We are very proud of these kids so to abbreviate our feelings, we'll sum them up this way....brag, brag, brag, brag!!
We also had a wonderful dinner at Rose Marie's and Jon's place. All the vegetables were straight out of the garden. It was excellent.

Just completed two days and 958 miles on the road en route to Rapid City, S.D. Tonight we are in Danville, Mo, about 50 miles west of St. Louis. We're not looking for new things or adventures between Charleston and Rapid City. We just want to get there but we do understand why the Roemlers primarily stay put in Punta Gorda during the summer months. Its hotter here than Punta Gorda. More to follow from Rapid City.
